Maggie and I went to the pharmacy on Saturday morning to pick up her blood pressure medicine.  I had her on my hip (where she always is).  While we were waiting to be helped, an elderly man asks, "Is she sick?".  This question hit me like a ton of bricks.  I thought for a minute and while I wanted to answer  "well, only if you consider 1/2 a heart to be sick", I politely answered, "no, she's on this medicine all of the time".  I have not thought about my daughter as "sick" for almost 2 years now.  Once she had recovered from the 1st surgery and put some weight on, she no longer seemed "sick" to me.

Sick?  Nope, not my girl!
